About the Production Futures Breakthrough Talent Awards

What is the Production Futures Breakthrough Talent Awards?

In 2016 we launched the Breakthrough Talent Awards to recognise and celebrate newcomers within the entertainment production industry. From entrepreneurs and apprentices and employees, to students, graduates and freelancers, we shine the light on those who are broadening their skill set and already making a significant impact on the industry whilst breaking down barriers to lead the way for others.

With 43 previous winners in the Breakthrough Talent Newcomers List, last year we launched 21 new categories, creating even more opportunities to put newcomers in the spotlight and celebrate their achievements. This is not your average awards ceremony, this is a celebration of new fresh talent and a networking opportunity like no other, with prizes like no other.

The prize for each category is a ‘money can’t buy’ opportunity kindly donated by our sponsors who all nominees will get to meet at the final. Our sponsors are leading businesses involved with creating the biggest and best productions and live experiences in the world.

This year’s nominations are now open so enter yourself or someone else on their behalf, there is nothing to lose!

You have been working in the industry for 0-5 Years

Entrepreneurs, apprentices, college students, university students, graduates, freelancers and employees of less than 3 years.

Absolutely yes, or someone else can nominate you.

Submit a project or a piece of work that you are proud of, a business you started, a project you designed, an assignment you already submitted, an achievement you are proud of, a technical innovative idea you might have.

This is time to celebrate your greatest achievement to date. This is ALL about you, not your qualification.

I feel really proud and privileged to have won these awards. Studying at Confetti allowed me to access the resources I needed to develop and gave me the space and support to explore my interests in video. I was able to gain experience of designing and creating video content as well as in the technical and engineering elements on a range of different types of events. Since finishing my degree I’ve been supported and encouraged by a lot of wonderful people in the video design community and I am really grateful for the opportunities I’ve had.
